      Hi all,

      My question is,

in BS8110-1:1997 Clause 8.6 “Positioning of Tendons and Sheaths”, it mentioned a tolerance of +/-5mm.

Is this applicable to horizontal positioning or for vertical positioning only?

In my opinion that tolerance is for vertical positioning only (profiling). Post

Tension Institute (PTI) recommneds horizontal tolerance of tendon placement. Please

        refer to the attached sheet.

Refer also to TR 43 (other sheet).

          you're asking about BS8110-1:1997………
but for BS5400-7:1978 clause 5.6 for bridges. “the tendons, sheaths and duct formers shall be accurately located and maintained in position both vertically and horizontally as shown in the drawings. Unless otherwise shown on the drawings the tolerance in the location of the centre of the sheath or duct shall be -+5 mm.
